Samsung Galaxy Ultra Wallpaper Resizer (1440 x 3120)

The Galaxy Ultra series uses 1440 x 3120 pixels on a 6.8-inch display, giving 510 ppi. This is one of the densest displays in any smartphone. The implications for wallpaper design:

Text in wallpapers renders with no visible aliasing. Anti-aliasing artifacts that show on lower-resolution screens disappear.

Fine textures (cloth weave, paper grain, sand, foliage) look natural rather than mechanical. This is especially true for photo backgrounds.

Gradient banding (the stair-step appearance in smooth color transitions) is significantly reduced because the display can render more intermediate colors at the high pixel density.

For wallpapers designed at 1080 x 2340 displayed on Ultra: the upscale is mild (33% in each dimension) and the result is still sharp. But to take full advantage of the Ultra's display capability, design at native 1440 x 3120.

The 6.8-inch display gives Ultra wallpapers more dramatic real estate to work with. Three patterns work particularly well:

1. Cinematic photos (wide depth of field, single dominant subject, professional bokeh). The screen real estate makes these feel like miniature photographs.

2. Vector / illustration art at high resolution. Vector designs designed at 1440 wide look pristine on Ultra because vector geometry renders without anti-aliasing limitations.

3. Astrophotography and abstract textures. The 510 ppi resolves star fields, nebula gradients, and intricate textures cleanly.

What works poorly: heavily compressed JPEGs (the Ultra display reveals JPEG artifacts that lower-res phones hide), small repeating patterns (look mechanical at this density), and busy multi-color designs that fight with the system color theme extraction.
