Resize Image for TikTok Profile Picture (720x720)

TikTok displays your profile picture at 200 x 200, which sounds tiny, and it tempts people to upload a small file. That is the mistake. Modern phone screens are high-resolution, and TikTok reuses your picture in places larger than 200 px, so a small upload looks soft.

Upload a square at 720 x 720 or 1080 x 1080. It downscales cleanly to the small display size and still looks sharp anywhere TikTok shows it larger. Squaring the image first also means you control the crop instead of letting TikTok pick the centre for you.

Your profile picture shows as a circle across the app, so the square you upload loses its corners. Anything you care about, a face, a logo, text, should sit in the middle with a margin around it.

If your only photo is a rectangle, square it here first. You can crop in tight on the subject, or pad the sides with a colour so the whole image fits inside the square. Either way you decide what survives the circle instead of hoping TikTok's auto-crop gets it right.
