Resize Image for Discord (512x512)

Profile avatar: Upload at 512x512 pixels (displayed at 32-128px depending on context). Server icon: 512x512 pixels minimum (displayed at 32-96px in server list). Custom emoji: exactly 128x128 pixels, under 256KB, PNG or GIF format. Custom sticker: exactly 320x320 pixels, under 512KB, PNG or APNG. Server banner: 960x540 pixels, PNG or JPEG, Nitro Boosted server required. Profile banner: 600x240 pixels, PNG or JPEG, Nitro required. Server splash screen: 1920x1080 pixels, requires Level 1 server boost.

Unlike most social media platforms, Discord does not aggressively re-compress images that are already at the correct dimensions and file size. If you upload a 512x512 PNG at under 256KB, Discord serves it almost unmodified to all devices.

This means image quality on Discord is largely in your control. Upload at the recommended size and under the file size limit, and your avatar, server icon, or emoji will look crisp on all devices, including high-DPI (Retina) screens that double the effective pixel display.

Discord profile banners require Nitro subscription and display at 600x240 pixels. However, Discord serves the banner at 2x resolution for high-DPI screens, so uploading at 1200x480 pixels produces sharper results on modern displays.

For server banners, the dimensions are 960x540 pixels (16:9 ratio) and require server Level 1 boost. Server splash screens (shown to members joining via invite link) are 1920x1080 pixels and require Level 2 boost.
